Managing Products (Admin)

Administrators can add, edit, and bulk manage products.

Adding Products

Single Product

  1. Go to Admin > Products

  2. Click Create Product

  3. Fill in product details

  4. Save

Product Fields

Product Status

| Status | Effect | |--------|--------| | Active | Visible in POS | | Inactive | Hidden from POS | | Discontinued | No longer stocked |

Editing Products

  1. Find the product

  2. Click Edit

  3. Make changes

  4. Save

Bulk Editing

Edit multiple products at once:

  1. Select products (checkboxes)

  2. Click Bulk Actions

  3. Choose action:

    • Change category

    • Update prices

    • Set status

  4. Apply to selected

Importing Products

CSV Import

  1. Go to Admin > Products

  2. Click Import

  3. Download template

  4. Fill in product data

  5. Upload CSV file

  6. Review and confirm

Import Template

Required columns:

  • name

  • sku

  • price

  • category

Optional columns:

  • barcode

  • cost

  • stock

  • reorder_level

  • description

Import Tips

  • Use exact category names

  • SKUs must be unique

  • Check for duplicates

Exporting Products

  1. Go to Admin > Products

  2. Apply filters if needed

  3. Click Export

  4. Download CSV

Categories

Creating Categories

  1. Go to Admin > Categories

  2. Click Create Category

  3. Enter name

  4. Select parent (optional)

  5. Save

Category Hierarchy

Categories can be nested:

  • Parent Category

    • Sub Category

      • Sub-sub Category

Tips

Always set SKUs - they help with stock management.

Enter cost prices to track profit margins.

Use CSV import when adding many products at once.

Review and deactivate products you no longer sell.
